Rick Astley

Rick Astley is a British singer and songwriter who rose to fame in the late 1980s with his hit single "Never Gonna Give You Up." Born on February 6, 1966, in Newton-le-Willows, England, Astley began his music career as a drummer in a local band before being discovered by the hit factory of Stock Aitken Waterman.

Astley's debut single "Never Gonna Give You Up" was released in 1987 and quickly became a global hit, topping the charts in 25 countries. His subsequent singles such as "Together Forever," "She Wants to Dance with Me," and "Take Me to Your Heart" were also successful and helped establish him as a pop icon of the late 1980s.

In addition to his successful music career, Astley has also dabbled in acting and has made appearances in various television shows and films. He retired from the music industry in the early 1990s but made a comeback in 2007 with the release of his album "Portrait."
